Chris and Mandy - General Managers
Ironically, even though Mandy and Chris both went to the same school, they only met each other while working in the Serengeti!
After a completing an MBA in Cape Town, Mandy leapt at the opportunity to broaden her horizons and accepted a hospitality management role in Tanzania. Chris began his career as a sommelier and honed his skills alongside some of the most respected names in the South African wine business. Once qualified, he found himself in Tanzania looking after a much-treasured cellar and tasting wine with distinguished safari travellers.
After six years managing iconic safari properties such as Singita Grumeti and the &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge in Tanzania, Chris and Mandy migrated north to Kenya. In Sirai House they have found home - one of the most magical places in the world - and are surrounded by the incredible team that make up the Sirai family.
Bonface - Head Guide
Bonface (Boni to his friends) was born and raised just a few miles from Sirai house. He has been guiding for over 10 years, many of which were spent on the Borana Conservancy. He is a local boy with a truly intimate knowledge of the area.
He is a graduate of the Amboseli Institute in Tour Guiding and Administration and is a member of the Kenyan Professional Safari Guide Association.
Venetia - Equestrian Manager
Venetia grew up amongst Europes leading studs and racing yards in Newmarket. After extensive work experience in the UK, Venetia travelled to Wyoming to further her horsemanship skills. Following several years between South and East Africa Venetia moved to Kenya permanently in 2010. Having worked in the Chyulu Hills as a Horse Safari Guide,Venetia is now responsible for the horses at Sirai Stud which incorporates an innovative breeding programme.
Jackton - Head Butler
As his nickname suggests, "Pappa" is father figure to one and all at Sirai. His kind good nature endears him to everyone: guests and colleagues alike.
Jackton and his wife, Pamela, are blessed with two children - Rosalida and Emmanuel.
Jackton hopes to retire a Ninatak Kuwa Mkulima - a kenyan farmer - to his native region of Kakemaga in the west of Kenya. In the meantime he is looking for a local choir to sing with.
John - Head Groom
John has spent his whole life working with horses having started at the age of 16. John dreams of opening a riding school to teach young people the magic of horses and horsemanship.
The only thing John loves more than his horses are his two children, Florence and Daniel.
George - Chef
A native of Nairobi, George has cooked for some of the finest hotels and restaurants in Kenya including the Talisman and the Watamu Beach Hotel. After eating his food, we begged him to come and join our team and, luckily for us, he accepted.
He can work wonders with meat and seafood and loves teaching almost as much as cooking.
Benadeta - Head of Housekeeping
Bena hails from the eastern region of Kenya - the Kamba tribe - where she grew up with her 5 brothers and sisters. She has spent her career as a housekeeper, au pair and most recently was head of housekeeping at Shampole Lodge.
Bena's dream is to settle down somewhere quiet, with her own chickens and surrounded by many grandchildren.
